London Fire Brigade Education Day

 Date: Friday 8th March, 2019

Time: 9:00am- 3:15pm

Venue: Lee Green Fire Station, 9 Eltham Road, SE12 8ES

 The London fire brigade are running pilot educational days which are aimed at young people aged between the ages of 14 to 16

 Objectives

 Increase confidence and self belief

  • Raise awareness of and address stereotypes regarding the fire fighter role
  • Enhance interview skills and knowledge of the recruitment process, to assist with employability
  • Raise aspirations and motivate young people into education, employment or training

Young people will be fitted with fire gear and will have the opportunity to engage in a number of practical activities which include working with the breathing apparatus, hoses and team building activities.  Each activity is designed to develop confidence and teach transferable skills such as problem solving, team work, communication and leadership skills, as well as raise aspirations. They will also take part in an interview skills workshop

 If you feel your young person would  benefit from this experience please return your completed parent consent form to their school .  Availability is limited so participation will be based on a first come basis.  Unfortunately if a young person does not have a signed parent consent form they will be unable to participate due to health & safety.
